But here's where it gets controversial: in early January 2025, Áine's GP prescribed Femodette again, despite her recent blood pressure issues. Kerry had concerns, but trusted the doctor's judgment.
"I wish I'd spoken up. I torture myself thinking about it. At that time, we didn't know her blood pressure was so close to the danger zone," Kerry reveals.
After a night out in March, Áine woke up with an excruciating headache. She stayed in bed, assuming it was a hangover. But the pain intensified, and Kerry called for help.
"It all happened so fast. One moment, we thought it was a hangover, the next, she was unconscious. I was in denial. I couldn't believe it was happening," Kerry recalls.
Áine was rushed to the hospital, where a scan revealed a blood clot on her brain. Her family gathered to say their goodbyes, but no one could believe this was happening.
